Well, I'm 22. Nothing really all that special about hitting that mark. I guess the only thing to note about it is that growing older scares you a bit more when you're no longer in school and have no idea what your immediate future will hold for you. All I've got now are hopes and dreams with hopefully enough skill and ambition to make it work.
My birthday, though...phew. Very nice. =) And it's all thanks to the little woman.
Don't get me wrong, I loved everyone who took the time to call or wish me a happy birthday (even lil kim called from Ship! Woot Kim! =) ). I appreciate it.
But the little woman and I spent nearly the whole day together. She comes over in the late morning, where we just lay and rested together a bit (I mean, come on, it was 10:15. That's, like, fucking 5am to a college student ;) ). Then, we went to Montgomeryville, grabbed some lunch at Perkins, and then hit Modell's so I could try on and pick out my gift (roller hockey pants). Finally, I can play a game sporting something large enough to cover my pads that's NOT fleece. =)
Then it was back to my place for a little more...R&R. Then we parted ways so we could shower and get ready for our dinner date, but I sort of just passed out a bit...but I DID manage to wake up with 20 minutes to quickly shower, do my hair, shave, and even balance my checkbook (not so much the balancing part) before we had our dinner reservations at Il Garda.
Phew...Goddamn, people...let me tell you, my dinner kicked YOUR dinner's ass tonight. I don't care WHAT you had. Hell, you could've eatten a steak dinner out of someone's vagina, and it STILL wouldn't hold a torch to what I had tonight. Get this: Veal parmigiana ANNNND Shrimp, basked in a garlic sauce with a touch of marina, with linguine and sauce on the side, with a REAL Caesar salad with homemade dressing, and freshly baked bread that was still warm. Heh.
So, what'd YOU have? McDonald's? Hehe, fatass.
But yes, right after the dinner, we scooted a couple doors down to the Regal Theater, and caught that new Willis flick, Hostage. It was alright, but not the best thing I've seen. Some interesting direction at times with an alright storyline, but something that really lacks in the ending department.
It was still good, though, thanks to the company.
And after all that, we headed back to my place, where we unwound in front of a burning fire listening to music.
Getting older never felt so good. =)
Thanks, Butter. =)
