For your information, not every Bad Guys Pep Talk Session absolutely must look like Nuremberg Rally. Even if most of your target audience have no idea what in the blazes Nuremberg Rally even was.

And that's probably the only fun thing of the entire 2.5 hours of it.

...and the most exciting moment for me was hearing the Star Wars theme opening the musical introduction to the part of "Best Original Score."

It's been a while since I posted here about a movie that I was able to accept, let alone like. Well, here goes, because yesterday I watched The King's Speech.

And I want to watch it again.

Because it's so darn worth it.

The other day, I finished watching the Ivanhoe miniseries (1997).

A quick word of explanation: I've always had an enormous soft spot for Ivanhoe the book. If not for it, I'd probably never have become interested in the medieval British history, and eventually would have probably picked mathematics and not English as my major. :) That's why I'm ( Read more... )

Yesterday, at my parents' house, I was playing with the TV remote and stumbled into some Bible-based movie (don't know the title) that started with the story of Joseph and ended with Moses and the Exodus. I watched it for maybe forty minutes, and in the end, I wasn't sure if I should be annoyed or amused.

The Russian director Vladimir Bortko might well have said the same about his new movie. He gave a life to another filmed version of the story...and managed to kill the aforesaid story quite effectively.
