Vacations are almost always good, and one must remember that while writing vacation reports. So, no proper objective report this time, just several glimpses of what it was like.

My congratulations to the people of Egypt. One may go on and on about the possible political implications for the Western world, but what those people did is amazing and truly heroic. May they have the strength to keep the power they managed to snatch away from their dictator.

So I’m back from another Egyptian vacation. Pictures here - I have tried to write some captions there.

I was trying to figure out how to write this “report” even back when I was there, but somehow, the resulting thing would always turned out so…fragmentary, impressionistic in a way. Please bear with me if this entry sounds somewhat weird!

Yes, I am here, back from Egypt and the Sahara and, well, Africa (still can't believe I've been to Africa!!) -- some of you have already seen a couple of my fanfic posts, and now I finally have some time to write a proper vacation report, of the kind that tourists use to torture friends and family. ;)

Yep, perhaps a bit unusual to take it at this time of the year, but I'm still doing it. :) So tomorrow morning I'm leaving for Hurghada, Egypt (Ar. Al Ghardaqah). I still can't quite wrap my mind around going to Africa!! And it's Egypt, which is totally cool ( Read more... )
