Just watched The Black Cauldron. Apart from destroying two splendid books, the animation did not have a trace of style. No wonder this was a box office and critical flop. Not deserving of a single star.

I love film animation, but I have never been totally sold on the feature length films from Pixar. Yes, the computer animation is excellent, but I have failed to respond to the writing. Monsters vs Aliens

We bought the DVD the other day, and saw it for the first time the other night.

I love this movie! ( Possible mild spoilers behind cut )

Lots of bits and peices to note...

Firstly, I've been blabbing about CGI animation quite a lot, and complaining about the problems the new Captain Scarlet has with weight and shadow, amongst other things.

To see how this should be done, may I commend to your attention a children's series called Jane and the Dragon.

We have seen odd episodes of this series on Saturday mornings when we happened to be in, and have now picked up the box set.
