In faith, I do not love thee with mine eyes, for they in thee a thousand errors note.

Where, oh where can my baby be?
Sick in bed, for the 3rd day in a row. Poor thing. :(
I don't appear to have caught whatever cold bug he's got, but maybe he will let me come down after work and nurse him back to health. I should pick up a Naughty Nurse costume, y/n?

I have leftover pizza casserole for lunch, from Grey's Night with the Girls last night. Hot damn, it turned out well! And with everyone else's helpful additions of bread, salad, wine and cookies, we had a lovely, lovely meal. And Grey's Anatomy was one of the funniest yet of the season! I loved that George and Izzie have no chemistry. I want those two to STOP IT, now. But the rest was funny, Bailey was awesome, and I liked how the constipated guy got it on with the plastic surgery patient. Well done, GA.. Although I still think one of my favorites this year overall was the meth episode, it wasn't as funny, but it was well-delivered on the dramatic side. Plus, it was more Alex Karev-heavy, and we ALL know how I feel about him!

Yesterday, I don't know if it was the pea-souper weather or what, but there was a definite mentality of "who peed in YOUR wheaties??" Cranky, stressed out people. Today, either the sunshine or general Friday-ness of it all, is much better. I feel productive and happy, although I *am* playing around on LJ. This may be because I didn't have to come in until 8am. I <"&heart"> sleeping in!

I feel a need for more Shakespeare in my life. Let me educate you on it. :P

This is an extremely good analytical website. "Translations" from 16th c. English to contemporary English on the side, and an overall analysis at the bottom: http://www.cummingsstudyguides.net/xsonnetanalysis.html

Sonnet 18 (the one that everyone knows, "Shall I compare thee to a summer's day," and so on) and an overview of sonnets themselves are demonstrated at the beginning of the study guide.

But the one that I was in search of today was one from my Shakespeare class in London, where Jean was going on about about how filthy-minded Shakespeare really was. A bawdy bard, if you will (that's REALLY funny because of what I'm about to say). This sonnet uses the term/name "will" several times, and in those days of yore, "will" was a pun for genitalia and its purpose. Hence the play "Twelfth Night or What You Will," as it's all about teh sex. So, here is the little-known Sonnet 135:

Whoever hath her wish, thou hast thy 'Will,'
And 'Will' to boot, and 'Will' in overplus;
More than enough am I that vex thee still,
To thy sweet will making addition thus.
Wilt thou, whose will is large and spacious,
Not once vouchsafe to hide my will in thine?
Shall will in others seem right gracious,
And in my will no fair acceptance shine?
The sea all water, yet receives rain still
And in abundance addeth to his store;
So thou, being rich in 'Will,' add to thy 'Will'
One will of mine, to make thy large 'Will' more.
Let no unkind, no fair beseechers kill;
Think all but one, and me in that one 'Will.'

And Sonnet 141, which you might recognize from 10 Things I Hate About You cracks my shit up. Basically, Shakespeare is saying "you're ugly as sin, you smell bad too, but for some strange reason my heart loves you and I am your willing slave."

In faith, I do not love thee with mine eyes,
For they in thee a thousand errors note,
But 'tis my heart that loves what they despise,
Who, in despite of view, is pleased to dote.
Nor are mine ears with thy tongue's tune delighted,
Nor tender feeling, to base touches prone,
Nor taste, nor smell, desire to be invited
To any sensual feast with thee alone.
But my five wits nor my five senses can
Dissuade one foolish heart from serving thee
Who leaves unswayed the likeness of man,
Thy proud heart's slave and vassal wretch to be.
Only my plague thus far I count my gain,
That she that makes me sin awards me pain.

There now, don't you feel smarter?? :D Have some culture with your Friday danish and coffee.
