Sumara walked into the classroom on time as usual, but anyone who looked at her would know that something was not quite right. She wasn't sad, she wasn't mad, but more confused than any other emotion. She tried forgetting everything the first half of the day and just wear a smile, but now that school was almost over all her thoughts came streaming through her head. When she returned home the night before, she expected her dad to still be angry and lash out at her even more. Instead, she just found him in a drunken stupor sleeping on the couch. She wasn't sure which she would have rather seen, but she decided that it was better that there wasn't another confrontation.
When she woke up the next morning earlier than usual, she entered the kitchen and found her mom and dad sitting at the table eating and talking as if nothing happened the night before. Of course her dad didn't tell her what happened and Sumara actually questioned whether he even remembered. What he did remember to do, was to make sure he got rid of any evidence by throwing any of the bottles away. Her mom finally noticed that Sumara was in the room and beckoned her to sit down.
"Here Sumo I actually made breakfast today. I didn't know if you would be up early this morning, but if not I was just going to put it in the fridge with a note", her mom said as Sumara went to take a seat next to her. "Thanks mom", Sumara said quietly before eating her food. Sumara's mom noticed that she looked a little meeker than usual. "Are you okay Sumo? I know it's the morning, but you usually have a little more energy". Before replying she looked at her father who gave her a slight glare warning her against saying anything that might hint to the previous event. Sumara's mom didn't notice the glare and Sumara decided to answer with just a quick reply. "No. Everything is okay. I just have a test today and am not looking forward to it." Sumara's mom looked satisfied with that answer and got up from the table. "Well honey I have to go to work. Good luck with your test and make sure to come home right after all your activities", she said as she walked through the doorway on her way out for work. She was then left in the room with her father and didn't want it to stay that way much longer.
"She didn't even say good bye to me and I thought we were getting along this morning", her father muttered under his breath just loud enough for Sumara to hear. She got up herself and put her plate in the sink and started her way towards the door. Before she could fully exit, her dad gave her a warning. "Oh by the way, don't think that I forgot about last night. If you don't say anything than I won't either." Sumara gave no response and just walked to her room to get dressed and ready for school. On her way to school, she told herself to just forget about it during the school day because it would just put a weight of worry on her shoulder that she didn't need.

It worked for a while, but after lunch she just couldn't get her mind away from it. Now it was sixth hour and she couldn't figure out whether she should tell her mom after school or keep her mouth shut. She wanted to give a warning to her mom about what might happen again in the future, but she didn't want to make situations worse. She knew her parents have been starting to fight, but she didn't really think it was that bad. Now she wasn't sure anymore. She thought of all this once she was at her seat and was hoping that they weren't going to do anything too involved because she was not up to it, but of course they had a group project that had to be done by the end of the class period. They had to get into groups of two and each person took their turn talking in front of the camera. The person not talking at the time gets to come up with random topics on the fly while the other person talked about. They had to change topics at least five times during the course of four minutes. It was supposed to teach the students to keep on their toes whenever on camera. The teacher told them the groups that they were to work in.
