The Burnout is Here to Stay

Feb 25, 2022 20:22

Between the news stories and my personal stressors, I'm getting overly emotional about everything lately. I can cry at the drop of a hat if I'm too sad or too happy about something. It's getting old.

I had a conversation with Dan today. He let me know he's going to quit the job he hates and start his own power washing/handyman business. I'm proud of him. He's come such a long way. He was also checking that I would still petsit for him and Nikki when they go to their cousin's wedding in April. Thankfully it's toward the end of the month so staying at their mom's and visiting the bearded dragons at Dan's house shouldn't be a problem. Maybe the change of scenery and having dogs and a different cat around will put me in a good place. I still have a long way to go before we get there so we'll see.

Day 23:
Avirl Lavigne "Love Sux"
Favorite Track(s): "Bite Me"

This one is kind of cheating. The album came out today. I can't say it's something I've always wanted to listen to but I heard "Bite Me" a month ago and saw the video with Travis Barker and was very curious. I was a fan of Avril at 13 when her first album came out and then I never really listened to anything else by her except singles. She is really good at putting out catchy, fun, fuck you tracks. It's her thing. Pairing up with Travis Barker to put this album together was a smart move. He's everywhere in pop punk these days. A lot of the stuff he works on is starting to all sound the same. This entire CD is no different. By the mid-point, the songs were starting to blend together. Every song was about love and a break up or hook up. It got old. Individually the songs are fun. If I was 13 again, I probably would have been obsessed.
