Slash bunny to give away

Jan 18, 2008 18:40

I'm pretty strictly a gen writer, and busy with 5+ works in progress in LoM at the moment, and Sam/Gene doesn't do a thing for me. Yet occasionally my brain will give birth to slash bunnies that are, at least, interesting to me on an intellectual level, even if they don't 'turn me on' (or at least the slash aspect of them doesn't). So, since that ( Read more... )

Oh CRAP. That is the EXACT plot of the next installment of my Undercover AU series! Oh no, the secret is out!

...now get out of my brain.

My fic doesn't match your restrictions exactly, though; I've set that AU definately after 2.08, and I am not doing reams of research on GLBT activism in 1970s Manchester (a bit, but for the sake of the hate crimes aspect I'm making a lot up) and also features a supreme hand-wringing level of relationship angst between Sam and Gene. Gene is rabidly against activism and is trapped in old-school gay male relationship roles that drives Sam nuts. Also have a few re-occuring characters coming in (oh yes the fabulously gay doctor is back!).

However I've barely tapped the plot and it is already at 11k words; I expect it will cap at around 30k.

Oh damn, I got grey matter all over my shoes now. Damn. Okay, where's the exit? I suppose the nose would be easiest?

Heh. And I haven't even read that. Because I'm a freak who's currently trying to catch up with LoM fanfic reading by reading the community's memories. From A to Z. (I'm still at A.)

Have to admit to have taken a short look at some parts - I sort of scan most fic posted to the com, but don't actually read it. I think I will like it. Not a big slash reader, but your scenario seems to work, for me. From what little I've seen, anyway.

Sounds interesting. Maybe I should bump your series up a bit on the To Read list. I may only get to M much later this year... *g*

OMG the Memories is...huge! I've never looked there before. Most of my work is not listed there, though, just a few pieces. Am I supposed to do something? Or are those the stories others have mem'd?

I do not ever mem anything so I don't understand how it works.

....oh and you: glutton for punishment! Starting with "A"...whoa, some challenge there.

(But if you likey the angsty, you will like the Undercover cycle, if you can live through the slash! heh.)

Oh that sounds really interesting. But I don't really like stepping out of my comfortable PWP-writing bubble, I hate making commitments and I'm sure someone could do a much better job \o/

Also I am glad to hear you've started your follow up, mikes_grrl :D
