I'm lowering my goal to 100k this year. I might have to find a second job so my sister and I have enough money. That also means I might have to wait another year before I move to Portland. I'm so disappointed now. We'll see how much financial aid I get next semester. They I'll decide. The reason for this is because my mom got laid off yesterday. If my sister got a job, at least a part time job, then she could help pay for stuff but since she doesn't seem to want any sort of job but the one at the casino, it looks like she isn't going to get one. It will take away from my writing time but I figured it was more important.
There are other options for Portland too. With a second job, I'll be able to have more money anyway and my mom isn't completely unemployed. She works part time at a nursing home. I can also sell my stuff. I don't plan on taking much with me when I move. From Michigan to Portland...that's a long way and shipping would be costly. I'm only bringing a few needed things with me. I have a lot of books I can sell. I'm sure I can make a bit of profit off the selling so I'm not too worried about that and it would be nice to clear my bookshelves a little. I have stacks of books next to them because I don't have enough room.
So, yeah, that's the plan for now. 100k is still a stretch especially since I might have a second job. I can only hope.
