Ok, I know others may find this hokey. But for me, this realizations is a great bit of comfort. And no matter how stupid it may be, I believe it. As i have continued to try and find answers in order to reconcile my faith and sexuality, I have come back to the central principle of Christian spirituality (which happens to be the principle that Christianity is the absolote worst at). Jesus is Love. He loves people and he wants us to love people. Throughout the Gospels, Jesus didn't condemn people or reject people but accepted them and loved them. The people he had a hang up with were the religious leaders of the day. I think it is similar today (and throughout history). As much as we may try, none of us can be perfect. Though Christians are supposed to love and accept others, we condemn them and exclude them. I honestly don't know if homosexuality is right or wrong, but I know that so much of what everyone does is wrong and we can never be right through our own actions. I believe in God, and I believe that through Jesus we can have a relationship with God and that it is important to obey the example of his life. His example wasn't to point out what we did not like in others but to love God and to love others. That's what I am going to do. I hope that as I focus more on him, he will point me in the direction of what I am supposed to do and that I will eventually live more honestly with those I love.
