I am close! I was able to get a copy of the virtual floppy drive files the ACER uses for the restore disk. I ran the disk on a regular PC and just coped them from the virtual drive to the internal hard drive. I don't know why I did not think of that sooner ( Read more... )

"I found this out the hard way, for that machine you have to buy the ACER CD-Rom to make those disks work!! It's such a rip off, and they don't tell you this. Friday I got the parts from the local appliance warehouse. I was not impressed. It was 20 min out of my way. The charged me $10 more than I would have paid on-line (Basically they charged me the shipping fee - the got it from the same source and then sales tax on top of that.)
