So, i've been trying to get tickets to Costume College for years now, and finally, a ticket drops into my lap this year.
I've also been trying to take a class in descriptive bibliography at Rare Book School for the last two years. This year, it looks like UCSD is going to pay the $995 for a week of intensive training, and guess what... the class is M-F of the week right before Costume College. That means that if I get into the class, I have to miss Friday of Costume College. Including my limited attendance class on gold bullion embroidery, which I *REALLY* wanted to take.
Arrrrrrrrgh.
I suppose it's possible that I won't get into Rare Book School, but seeing as how my dept. head is one of the instructors, that seems somewhat doubtful. Why couldn't they just schedule it for the following week?! Grrrrrr...
Meanwhile, still no progress on the LoJ dress. I spent last night washing dishes, cooking dinner, and writing my cover letter for the LMU job application. (And reading the last 30 pages of "A Hat Full of Sky" by Terry Pratchett, which I think is now one of my favorite books). I'm going to try to at least do a few seams on it tonight. Eep!
