So long story short, my job laid me off because they were too cheap to pay me the £92 for working 16 hours a week. Yes, this is the real reason told to me by my boss. They "can't afford" to pay me, so no more job!
BUT they still want to be able to call me to cover whenever they need it, which is fucked up. They called me the other day to work Thursday and Friday, even though I've told them about ten times that Friday is the day we're leaving on our trip. So, I said I'd work Thursday.
Then this morning I woke up to 8 missed calls on my phone and two texts asking me if I could work from now til close? I have shit to do, so I had to say no. I'm glad too, because it pisses me off they call me before 10 AM. You laid me off after having that job for FOUR MONTHS, and then expect me to work illegally for cash when you're shorthanded? Fuck you, too.
I really hope the pool hires me as a receptionist, it would be a great job and I'd be able to tell these people to stop calling me because I can't work for them anymore.
I just need to go on my birthday trip and not think about this stuff anymore.
