The recipe that started it all

So i figure i better start with the recipe that caused it all.

BASIC BISCUIT RECIPE
This makes quite a few, maybe 25 cookies, so you can halve the measurements and it will still be fine.

1 cup sugar
1 cup butter
1 egg
2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
Small pinch of salt

Cream butter and sugar until it is a light yellow. Lightly beat the egg and beat into sugar/butter mix slowly. If it splits dont fret, the egg and the butter dont always mix well if one is colder than the other but who remembers to take the eggs out of the fridge 20 minutes before you want to bake? Sift in flour, baking powder and a pinch of salt and mix together with a wooden spoon. If it still feels like it is too wet or sticky add more flour. About half a cup should be enough.
From here you can add chopped nuts, choc chips, or roll into balls and make a little depression and add a small bit of jam. Mmm jamdrops... Whatever you want really. Add extra cocoa powder and make chocolate cookies. The possiblities are endless!
Then into the oven at about 160-180 degrees for around 10 to 15 minutes. They should be a lovely golden brown.

enjoy!
