(no subject)
My first day back at the farm was so much fun, except for the part where I got the farm truck stuck in the ditch by the cow pasture. It took Eric, Sam from the stables, everyone from physical plant, and me to get it out....
Good thing I have the best boss EVER! Our conversation after it was all done --
Eric: I'm sorry.
Me: Um, I was the one driving...
Eric: yeah, but still... I was the one that told you to drive around on unplowed roads...
Me: *shaky laugh, partly due to adrenaline, partly due to cold*
Eric: Are you okay? Was it scary?
Me: No. I'm fine. It was just really embarrassing. [thinks: because I come from a line of New Englanders]
Eric: At least you didn't do it when you still had the full load of rotten vegetable matter... That would have been really embarrassing.
Me: True.
Eric: *laughs* Good thing about working on a farm -- you get to do fun stuff like this.
Me: Yup
Eric: Oh, and you can count the hour we spent getting it out toward your work-study hours.
