TV Ennui
So last night we wanted to see The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, and found Netflicks didn't have it, and Amazon wouldn't rent it--they wanted $14 to "own" it. If I'm going to pay that much, I want a physical copy on blu-ray to keep. We wound up watching some Call The Midwife, but it got depressing, so my husband said he was done after 2 episodes. (I suppose back alley abortions aren't the most cheery of topics, even if they are well-written and sensitively acted)
I *know* there are movies I'd want to see for free or for a few bucks on Amazon or Netflicks streaming, but when I'm in the mood to settle down and watch "something with a plot" (as opposed to the Dog Whisperer or Property Brothers) I can never remember the titles of the ones I'd heard about.
I start grad school again at the end of January and want to go on a TV/Video bender before it's back to studying after work and on weekends.
I'd appreciate your suggestions! It could be something new, old, commercial or indie, I'd just prefer something that I can stream or Red box. :-)
