Sick, and pics. (completely unrelated)

I came home from work sick today. Actually, I've been sick for the last 3 days, but I went in anyway because I knew that the ladies I was working with would be completely swamped with first-of-the-month rent cheques, more than ever, and would both get migraines, and would both be insanely stressed if I didn't come in. So, for two days, I helped ease their swampedness. They weren't very busy today with cheques, and so I decided to come home. I really should have taken the "the Georgetown GO route has been suspended for track repairs" announcement this morning as a sign that I should have stayed home. Going home still incited work guilt, but since I constantly needed to tuck my lungs back in after their repeated escape attempts (i.e. massive coughing fits), it was probably for the best. I (barely) caught the 11:30 train home (a shout-out goes to my dad for picking me up at the station), had my lunch, and promptly slept for about 4 hours. That made me feel a touch better, for sure.

Dilemma (and what a wonderful dilemma this is!). J's coworker has suggested that we, along with him, his gf, and another and her boyfriend, all do the last minute trip to somewhere warm thing in February. The dilemma here is that I don't know where I'll be in Feb - will I be at a new job? If so, I won't have enough vacation time saved up. Will I still be at my current company? If so, not a problem, I just have to book off a time now (which means that beanee and I need to consult very soon on when we're going for a ski weekend!). But we're also talking about, as a family, taking my parents on a cruise for their 50th wedding anniversary (April 7), which would probably happen in late March. If we go on this last minute trip, I'll be completely out of vacation time (of course, neither will be possible if I end up working elsewhere) and won't be able to go on the cruise. We certainly wouldn't be able to afford both, even if I had the vacation time. Family meeting is in order.

I guess it's not a dilemma yet, we have time to wait things out a little, especially since by its very nature, we don't have to know whether we're going until we're pretty much getting on the plane. I just thought I would mention it, just because it's a new thing to talk about.

And now, (not so great) pictures of the afghan I made for J's brother David and his girlfriend Carolyn.

There's another afghan behind it on the chair up at the top (thanks, Steph and Christine!), so it looks a little white underneath. Anyway, so there it is! My next afghan goal is to finish a baby afghan for J's coworker, who will be having a baby in April. Well, his wife will. But he'll be a big help, I'm sure.
