Christmas (finally)

I have a little over 10 minutes to update about the holidays, so here I go, as fast as my little fingers can carry me.

Christmas Eve and Christmas Day were pretty hectic. I got home from work at 2:30, which is about half an hour after I expected to get home, considering I had gotten a ride instead of taking the train. Traffic was bad :P. J and I exchanged gifts (DDR for the XBox! Woo!), and then we headed off to my mom and dad's house, and then we all convoyed it up to my sister's for the night. We ate a ton of food, laughed a very large amount, and had a great time. Christmas morning was lots of fun, like it always is. Then we headed out to J's mom's house for Christmas afternoon/evening, where we opened more gifts, and ate lots of supper. David and Carolyn liked their afghan (pictures as soon as I remember to take them off the camera), but I had to take it back and finish it. Doh. I was completely on track to finish, but I ran out of yarn on Christmas Eve, about 8" before I finished the border, so of course, since the stores were all closed until Boxing Day, I couldn't get it done on time. They liked it nonetheless.

J and I both managed a decent amount of gifts again this year, for which we are both grateful. I was given a bike (combined gift from J and the parents, which I will buy in the spring), a bunch of books, a couple DVDs, and other fun stuff. J got a Knot-Tying book, so we had to head out to Home Depot as soon as possible and buy rope so that he could learn how to tie neat things like the Monkey's Fist and the Turk's Head. It's important stuff, you know.

We did a whole whack of visiting and being visited over the holidays as well. J's sibs came over for a movie night, we went out with J's family to Second City, we visited my family, we had friends over, we hosted New Years...it was nice to see so many people, but we really need some down time, I think. At least, I do. I can't wait until the weekend! I need some time off :P.
