Wedded Bliss and the Hospital Blues

I've been wonderfully busy over the last couple of weeks. I had an awesome time in Adelaide. Janelle and i stayed with Claris in her cute little house with her cute little pets! Twas good to spend some time with Clare cos I have not seen as much of her as I would have liked since she moved away. The wedding itself was fun. Most of my family was there minus my mum and gran. I met my second cousin Renee for the first time which felt strange cos I've grown up hearing so much about her. Unfortunately her brother Curt is sick in hospital so my Great uncle couldn't come. But the rest of the clan was there. Aunty Pat and Uncle Peter, little Pete and Angel, Uncle Chris and the cousmos, Laurel and Gloria and of course Rod and Dee (it was their wedding). The theme was pale green and pink and was just like Jessamy Rumbles. Good dancing and great fun was had.

Nellie and I went to the Barossa valley and to Handorf. I was quite suprised by the amount of German influences Adelaide has. There is beer and Bratwurst on every corner. And on every other corner there is an adult shop, and opposite the adult shop is a gambling cafe/bar and next to the bar is a church. That was my casual impression of Adelaide, and the other impression I had was that it was just like Perth except with a poxy excuse for a river (the Torrens) instead of the Swan.

I also endured first hand how dodgy their hospital system was. I had some icky trouble with my Op site so I went to the ED at Royal Adelaide Hospital. I got there at 3:30 and at 11:00 pm I finally got pissed off and went to a private hospital. The nurse there said they had 35 beds and 72 patients. Soooo over crowded. I then went to Calvary Hospital and they cost a fortune, yet they only tell you it isn't covered by insurance once you are having treatment. And their teatment sucked. They tried 4 times to get blood from me and they only got 10ml all up. They went for my arms, hands and feet and still failed! It was bout 3am by that time and they told me that they couldn't get enough blood to run the tests that they needed to, so they sent me home. $400 dollars poorer. I had to go to the hospital in Perth once I got back and they only took 2 hours and I was treated and out by 10:00pm. I am kinda getting sick of having recurrent digestive troubles that a normal 23 year old should not be having. Its annoying being in pain constantly and all that without knowing why.

In other news, work is going well. The audit of Peel Health Campus is not going as smoothly as I had hoped but its still good. We were in the office today and i was editing finacial reports for the department of education and training. 180 pages of boredom. At least its paid boredom. I kinda miss the shop though. Its more active and fun, and the community feel is great. I think I have two more weeks to go with Global 2020 then I'm back at the Arc of Joan. I've missed my last two classes cos of the wedding and being in hospital, and i've missed my study group too. I miss everyone. And some of you who read this have been neglected too. Not for much longer!

Merry part :)
