Moving: I thinks about it

Since Chris is leaving later this month (although it looks really iffy to me, for reasons I won't go into for now) I'm seriously considering moving out of the efficiency at the end of September. My lease ends then, and I'm tired  of paying most of my salary for a place that doesn't include power, cable, and -most importantly- Internet access.

The problems I face right now are finding a place I can afford that's near enough to Brickell, and a cheap moving service to haul my stuff. Especially the dresser. I'm quite fond of it. I got it for free on Craigslist with a matching nightstand; they turned out to be rather weather-beaten.... but solid maple!

Other than that, there's a couple of chairs, the mattresses (which I will get rid of first chance I have) and a plastic cabinet for furniture. I think the biggest problem will be my clothing and household stuff. A few large boxes and trash bags should do the trick.

I definitely need a moving service, since I have no car. I may ask someone I know to give me her now-ex-hubby's number, he's the one who hauled the dresser up to the apartment when I moved in. Yes, all by his lonesome. He's good, cheap and honest.

Does anyone on my LJ F-list have any suggestions on what else I could do?
