Back to Business (off & on location)
The time is fast approaching to finally attempt to work on location again. It's not going to back to pre-March 23 daily work of course. Now I've gone in every once in a while for brief 1-2 hour sessions to check on things and fulfill requests. After that last attempt to start earlier this month didn't happen, I figured TPTB would try for August.
We had a meeting Friday about the reopening plans and what PPE equipment would be available. I spoke to my supervisor for a bit to explain the purchase requests I made with the grant and how it should benefit our department. I understand that even if all the current protocols in terms of the "3 Ws" and PPE are followed there is still a risk. I will hope for the best.
There was also the topic of potential furloughing of a significant amount of us workers. I mean everything is on the table but that's scary to think about. Guess it was good that I am taking a side job as a census enumerator so I can have some extra savings just in case.
Nearly forgot, tomorrow is my birthday but I did a bit of celebrating this afternoon as I had dinner with my mom. I'm going to be at a training session for the Census Bureau tomorrow for most of the day and some other business.
