I Wish I Had One More Life To Live

I finished How I Met Your Mother last night (or at least caught up to the latest episode, so I will be able to finish out the season with you all). I'm pretty sure it's the fastest I've watched six seasons of a show (in probably a little less than two weeks, but the half hour format helped...) I'm pretty unmotivated to watch the rest of this week's tv, because I just want to stay in this lovely little world where things are mostly normal.

I've heard a few theories that the wedding is the end of this season is going to be Barney and Robin's, and uh...If that's the case, I hope it at least jumps us forward a bit. Even if it's just a few months (I don't think we could have a whole year fast forward at this point, it's pretty tight as it is). I'm kind of ambivalent about Barney and Robin ending up together. On the one hand, it ties up our little group together in a very neat, lovely adorable way. On the other hand...it ties up our little group together in a very, VERY neat, cutesy way. This is a sitcom, so I think I could allow it.

But...I don't know how/why The Mother would be invited to Barney and Robin's wedding. My first thought was that it was going to be Cindy's wedding, and she might have asked Ted to be her 'best man', because he (very) inadvertently helped her figure out who she was, but that's also a BIG stretch of a responsibility to give to him. The most likely wedding I can see happening is Ted's friend Punchy, but then I wouldn't know why Marshall and Lily (at least) would be invited, let alone have The Mother be someone's random cousin or something.

I set up a poll in my last entry about we think we'll meet The Mother, and to add to those few scenarios, I think there is a possibility that we will meet her at the wedding, and be given some dead-set signal that it is her, and we can all relax, but they still won't get together right away.

How were you guys in the first few seasons, were you all jumping at every serious new girlfriend? I mean, I knew Stella was definitely not going to be It, but I did really, really like her for a moment in time, and man, I fell right in love with Jersey Girl for a moment there too.

I totally want to make a Marshall/Marshall&Lily video to this song.

I am like, proud, somehow that Jason Segel was given the most dramatic arc we've seen (I mean, dramatic in the sense that it felt very real, and not just played for comedy's sake). I want a Marshall Eriksen in my life so bad, but that's a whole other ball of wax.

summerstorm had a fun meme going a couple of weeks ago, perfect time-waster for a Saturday afternoon:

Name a pairing from any one of my fandoms, canon, or uncanon (I don't even have to like the pairing, I may never have considered it before, but name any pairing you like as long as I know the fandom!)

And I will ramble on about:
1. If I like it or not.
2. Why I like it, if I do.
3. What would make me like it, if I don't.
4. If I'd ever write it and how I'd write it.

Oh, also, I'd like to bump abvj's A-MAZING Becky Sproles (FNL) fic, Go Easy On Yourself. This is one that I would recommend, even if it's outside of your fandom, it's very universal and beautiful and moving (and it takes place in an AU future, so you don't need to know much about the setting and the world).
