Why oh why do kids wake up so early on weekends? Weekdays, these two will slumber away until almost 8am if I let them. Weekends, I'm lucky if they make it past 7am. So I guess this morning I'm lucky. They slept until 7:20.

Happy Valentine’s Day!  I hope your day overflows with love!

I’m sitting on the living room floor with Ian as he plays.  We’re all sick.  Ian has snuffles and a cough that keeps him up at night (thus, I’m up at night).  Anika went to the doctor with persistent fever and cough.  She’s on the other side of it all now but hers cough’s still dramatic.  ( Read more... )

Snow!  Falling quick and quiet outside and sticking to the ground already.  The report (with video) is here.  I wonder if enough will fall to convince Anika to go play outside.  She complains of a stuffy nose this morning.  Not sure if she’s trying to be like me or if she’s really fighting the same cold.

We field-tripped to the Imaginarium and Mud Hut with Anika today.  Ian slapped at a chunk of clay while Anika molded a mountain and river and arctic fox. The Imaginarium science museum was a nice playground for Anika and sleep-zone for Ian, who I carried in the Moby-wrap.
