The internet is always good for a laugh

Like nearly everyone else in the world with access to the internet, I have Facebook. I spend more time on that site than I do on LiveJournal and I'm actually ok with that. It keeps me from updating and I truly love the games on there, but it also keeps me slightly updated on the things that are taking place in California.

This past August was my 6th year anniversary of moving to New England. I don't regret that decision one moment because I am happier here than I think I ever could be on the west coast. However, this has somewhat isolated me as to what is going on with my family, save for the few random updates of drama my mother tosses my way, or emotionally cheap status updates on Facebook.

Yesterday, however, was priceless. Randomly my mother updates vaguely about drama taking place between two family members, so I become curious and ask about it. Of course it involved my sister and my aunt (my mother's sister). It doesn't surprise me about either of them because of their nature and my aunt's persistently incorrect notion that her opinions, beliefs and values are more important than those of anyone else in her life, especially when it comes to people stating opposing views regarding religion. I wont even get started on that just yet because it would be way, way too much to delve into and I don't have the want of becoming even slightly angry all over again.

I am so glad that I commented to the entry and paid it mind because it was just amazingly priceless:

However, because of my involvement my sister has requested to friend me on Facebook and I'm not quite sure yet on what I should do. Accepting her request would allow me better access to the goings on in California as well as a brutal honesty about it that I know my mother is avoiding to keep the peace everywhere, which can be annoying. On the flip side of that, accepting her friend request would mean that in a way I forgive her for the drama she caused and the bullshit that happened between us, which I don't think I can, especially as she has not apologized nor do I believe she is inclined to do so. I also don't know if I want to deal with her status updates or her comments, because I know the ridiculousness that will ensue.

I know there is no time limit on doing this. Hell, even if there were such a limit it's not like it couldn't be requested again by either party. This party will not be initiating any such request, I assure you.
