Yes, I still live.
I have also discovered the secret to getting around writer's block: having no time in which to write. Also, temporal distance and perspective and getting up the guts to just DELETE the stuff that's backing you into a corner.
Yes, I have done all of the above.
I have no time. Seriously. I now know what it's like to put in nearly 60 hours a week. But - I will post the next chapter of "Snow and Mistletoe" tonight, if I possibly can. (There's something about July that's always put me in a Christmas mood.)
Additionally, progress has been made in the next chapter of "A Place Called Azkaban," as yes, I did delete the section that was giving me trouble. Twenty-five words that just made the tone utterly unpalatable. I hated it. But not all of it. So selective deletion it was. Now I'm off to comb through my archives because I am sick of creating new characters, even if I just need a place-filler and was planning on killing this one off anyway. Because I think I can just reuse some of my OCs, I just need to choose one. You'll of course know what I'm talking about once I post the chapter.
Also, will be trying to fight the AO3 and put "Small Packages" up sometime this week. As I update the AO3, I'm going to be putting in the bits and pieces I have of the unfinished fics in the chronology; they'll just be placeholders to start, but hopefully posting to the AO3 will be the impetus I need to get little bits like "Corinthians" (okay, only "Corinthians") done. I have nothing on this one, but if it clocks in at more than 500 words, just the idea I've had floating around in my head for . . . five years . . . (oh my God, running away from what appears to be epic pathetic-ness right now) . . .I'll be amazed.
So, that's the plan for this week, yay!
Off now to actually write something, whoo-hoo!
ETA:
Small Packages is up on the AO3! (And I've got to go to the "Tips and Tricks" and hope it'll let me upload stuff, because messing with the formatting is enough to make me write off the whole thing, "download" option or not. ARGH.)
