Fic Update: Snow & Mistletoe, Ch. 6
And Chapter 6 of Snow and Mistletoe is up!
This is the song that was featured in this chapter. I went looking for it on YouTube around Christmastime because I love The Huron Carol, and as soon as I heard this version, this chapter manifested in my brain. Naturally, it took a shamefully long time to actually get it written, but I think it's safe to say that this song and the scene of Susan singing, and Snape following the song as it echoed through the halls, actually inspired the whole fic. Of course, it manifested differently than I'd anticipated - I wanted Snape to have a dungeon-themed Christmas, entirely against his will, so the Weasleys decided to contribute and then Bixby and his now-second-year Ravenclaw friends clamored for some attention. And of course it pissed Snape off. So, there you go! :)
And there is some sweet symmetry in this chapter going up today. We are now exactly six months until Christmas, so we're halfway there; and this chapter is now exactly six chapters in, so it's halfway done. :)
In other news, got some nice strides on the next chapter of "A Place Called Azkaban" done yesterday, and I have some unexpected days off coming up this week and next, so I'll be resting and hopefully writing. I really want to get this chapter done because the one following it is already done - and yes, that one is THE chapter. You know what I mean. ;) Fingers crossed!
