sometimes all you need is time

Fun to watch myself go up and down in a matter of minutes.
Odd to realise that a lot of the stability I'd found vanished for a few days. I guess it's only normal?

This morning waking up to Walter stretching/meditating reminded of the "good old times", and when he finally joined me in the kitchen, it was the Walter I know better that had finally arrived. It is funny how taking time to refocus can change everything.

I guess it applies to everything.
Taking time to let things pass, let them be what they shall become and then simply let all of it go. A hard task, you might say. And to that I can only nod.

Life is as easy as you make it.
Or so I believe.

And I don't always make my Life as easy as I could, even though I think I'm trying as hard as I can.

Funny sentence.
Trying hard to make Life easy.

Those funny things we say even without noticing how contradictory they are at the very basis. And then we wonder why Life seems to make no sense and that we can't get our head straight about something. It's all about words.

I'll share a little thought of mine with you.
You are, as always and as with everything, free to agree and take it in or then throw away the though as pure rubbish. Or then you can think about it and take the best out of it.

I believe languages shape cultures.
I speak three languages relatively well: English, French and Finnish. My knowledge of German is quite ok and I can get away with speaking about this or that without stuttering too much.
What I have discovered is that even though there are translations for words from one language to the other, they never really meet.
If I take a word in Finnish and try to find an equivalent one in another language I can, of course, choose the one that is given to me by the dictionary but the connotations and the feelings that gather around that one word are so different from one language to the other.

Let's take 'vapista' for example (why in the world that word came to my mind, I have no idea).
The dictionary proposes:
In English
dither
dodder
shake
shiver
shudder
tremble
quake

And In French
frissonner
trembler

While those are legitimate translations they don't really convey the sense of 'vapista'.

So, while a population shares words that convey the same set of emotions and connotations, these words, that supposedly mean the same thing to another population carry a whole other set of everything for this second population. I know this is something most people are probably aware of, but strangely enough people don't work on this issue at all.
We are stuck between our beliefs and preconceived notions about one another to start off with, then we try to communicate with one another and solve world problems without finding a proper language ground?

I like the idea of all people talking the same language, but how does one go about actually making sure that the words we are using (translated from our native language into the one used commonly) aren't being simply loaded with a whole other culture? And is it even something desirable?

Ultimately is there any point in even trying to communicate since in any case no one seems interested in being honest anyway?

And no, this wasn't the point I thought I'd get to when I started this post... :D
