Attempted moviegoing

The husband won tickets to an advance showing of West Side Story for this evening (it hits theaters tomorrow). It was at a large mall on the opposite side of DC from where we live, but we trekked over, found parking, and then found a very long line waiting to get into the theater (inside, thankfully). As we stood there we listened to the other people in line talking about seats not being guaranteed (which the husband confirmed with a more careful look at the fine print), and definitely not assigned. We watched the already long line get longer. After a few minutes of that I finally looked at the husband and said I was not comfortable with the situation and the crowd. He agreed, and we left. A free movie ticket is fine & dandy, but for the most part theaters have not been crowded when we've gone other times, we get to pick our seats when we buy tickets, and we can afford it, so yeah, no thanks.

So instead we did some unneeded book shopping, grabbed dinner, and headed home.
