lol, whut?
here is the context (and for some reason my formatting for this entry is really fucked up, sowwy)I've been working my ass off on a study group for a class of mine..
this guy colin didn't like it because i actually assigned work (and he didn't want any work assigned to people outside of the teacher assigning work), so we could do a note-swapso i'd write the date or the study group in the corner of the board, and encourage people to participate
then he told me (over email) he didn't like how i assigned people work and i shouldnt do that, and blah blah blah
i told him i didn't care what he wanted, this was the way we were doing it and he didn't have to particiapte. i know from past study groups that if you don't assign specific things to people, then through diffusion of responsibility, nothing gets done. that is why i asked people to volunteer for a note swap, explaining what is was.
so the final study group is next wednesday, so i just wrote it in the corner of the board, like always, and colin goes up to the board and writes in HUGE, 1.5 foot high letters, like 1/2 the height of the board
"THE REAL STUDY GROUP IS SUNDAY. MEET AT DWINELLE AT HIGH NOON"
like, what? so i just kinda laughed
i said "high noon? that's like a standoff"
he replied "that's the point"
oooooooooookie. lol, whut?
and the teacher said "is there competing study groups?" (SG=studygroup)
and i said "this is the first i've heard of it, but that's cool"
it's even more dumb because he wanted to come and be involved in the SG, and i encouraged him to stop by. when he didn't come by SG #1 i even said something to him about missing it and how we were wondering where he was. it's like, WHEN DID YOU GET ALL BUTT HURT YOU DUMB BOY.. or so i wanted to yell.
then after class he stood up and said "SO EVERYONE WHO WANTS TO COME TO THE REAL STUDY GROUP, WHERE WE'LL BE ACTUALLY studying, unlike the other group. ...and blah blah blah"
and he carried on. first i didn't give a fuck, but then he was just being rude
i said
"[to a friend in the class] i want to punch him in the face. [then, to colin] colin, stop being rude and antagonistic. i don't appreciate the way you are acting towards me. don't talk to me that way" and glared. i was obviously upset and he said "oooooh" or something dick-like
then i get this
oh, the class ended at 1pm, and this email was sent at 1:17, and then another one at 3:07.

I had no idea I was being rude. I just wanted to declare a study
session on Sunday the night before. Sure I wrote it big and all.
That was largely in jest and I'm sure plenty will come to both
study sessions.
That being said, I hope there will be no more of such outbursts when I
write the announcement again (this time no larger than yours) on the board
on Monday. It's not meant to undermine your effort, which has been nothing
short of laudable. It's just me putting up an alternative group session
for a time that works for me... and possibly others as well.
Did you think, somewhere along the line, that you were running the show?

Look, I thought you were really nice this semester and got along great
with you, so this latest thing is a damn shame. Frankly, however, NO ONE
talks to me like that so I don't give a damn about reconciling any
differences between us. Anyway, you made a damned fool of yourself and I
am EXTREMELY dissapointed in you. That's all I have to say about that.
Have a nice life and leave the psycho business at home.

OBLIVIOUS to it.
Nevertheless ..... "sorry". I never use that word, so I do mean it.
Anyway, let's focus our energies on finals. And if it makes you feel
better, I won't advertise the Sunday session.

okay, lol, who says sorry in quotation marks? really. that's not an apology, dickwad. that's just being antagonistic and dumb. and as far as his SG is concerned, i couldnt give LESS of a damn if he wanted to do one the day before the final. i sure won't be there. it's amusing that he seems so offended that i took charge of a study group. i took initiative, i organized it, i planned it, i chose the room, once in the room, i directed the SG. that's because i had a pretty good idea of how i wanted it to go. and it did go that way. shocking! up until just this week he was totally on board with my SG and even reminded me to make an announcement, so i don't know what crawled up his bum. maybe his misused quotation marks?
whatever, i'm not trying to be this guy's friend, i just want to get through the semester.
i discussed with my bff over gmail and she said to ignore the guy, and i'm gonna take her advice. he can yap and jerk all he wants, he ain't getting my attention :P
