So, I watched it -- obviously, as the love child of the X-Files and Torchwood, this show appeals to me. I really liked that this show seems to deal ( spoilers )

My verdict: I liked it. It lacked the charm and wit of the UK version, but story-wise they did a lot of things that worked better.

I liked Voyage of the Damned more than The Next Doctor. I didn't think that The Next Doctor was bad by any means-- I rather enjoyed it-- but I enjoyed the epic disaster thing more.
