Dexter and I play this game called "I'm gonna win!"
We rush to the stairs and go up as fast as we can. He usually wins.
Sometimes he's being lazy and I get to the stairs first. So I stand there and I call out "Dexter! I'm gonna win!" And I go up a few stairs, call out "I'm gonna win!" Usually, within one or two gonna-win's I hear his bell as he dashes from wherever he is and zooms up the stairs.
Going down the stairs he likes to spread out on the first step down and hinder my progress, especially if I'm carrying a box of something. If I'm not carrying something, this gives him motivation to attack my feet. Sometimes if he's just being passive, I'll goad him by poking him with my toe.

Dexter and Kaz run up the stairs differently. Kaz will take each step one foot at a time, and it's really cute when she does it quickly as she has that older lady, long-haired belly swish. Dexter runs up the stairs at a full gallop in the two + two method.
