I went to the urgent care thingy last night because my leg was still hurting a week after my silly slip against the tub last week, and I still had a bump and a bruise, and the bruise traveled all the way down my leg to my foot! Also it hurt enough that it was still making me feel sick.

The good news is I'm just a wimp and there's no fracture or any tendon damage. It just looks (and feels) worse than it is due to gravity from what the doctor tells me. The doc was more concerned about the FH than the leg.

I made an appointment for a new primary care doctor, but I won't see her (actually the nurse practitioner) until April. I would prefer to meet the doctor, but I really need to get my scrips renewed, need to get referral for the yearly mammogram, and need to revisit getting an MRA since I dropped the ball on that since I was sick of dealing with doctors. I'm picky about my doctors in that I only want female doctors and I don't want family practice, so I tend toward internal medicine.

I need a new primary care doctor because my current doctor is no longer practicing due to a brain tumor. She's had the tumor for 2-3 years, had an operation in October, but recently went downhill and is now in hospice. This is so heartbreaking as she really was the perfect kind of doctor: she was fit, she listened, she helped me without judgment. She can't be much older than her middle 40s, she has a young son, and so this is just terrible for her and her family.

Tomorrow I go to the special dentist to get a (fairly) perfectly good tooth pulled because I'm weird and don't have a matching tooth below to stop it from growing. This wouldn't be such an issue for me since it's not really growing that fast except the dentist saw a "shadow" that she worries could get worse and lead to a root canal, which would be more painful for me if I let it be. I can't find the x-rays the dentist took so I'll probably have to fork over extra money for new x-rays to be taken. ::grump::

I've been making notes on things I think about throughout the day so one day I can actually start writing something, either a story or some brilliant expository piece or maybe some formal opinion work.
