Irony or just bad luck?

Getting in to the shower today, I slid and banged my shin. I have a nice sized goose egg and it hurts enough to make me slightly nauseated and twinge the FH up a notch. The culprit of my slip?

The bathmat that I have so I don't slip on the tub surface itself.

Of course, it helps if when I replace the bathmat I make sure the little suction cups are actually sticking to the tub, otherwise the bathmat also will slip on the tub surface. Brilliant!

Heehee. Ow.

I put back in the new contacts today. So far eyesight seems OK and only had had a little bit of movement on the right contact. I do still have an aura but that could take a few days to go away as my eyes get used to not being over corrected, if my eye doctor is correct in her prognosis.

Here's an impromptu poll. How many people reading my journal see floaters/germs/spots as a regular thing? If you see floaters, is this something new or something that's always been that way since you were a child?

For me, I've always seen floaters. I call them germs. Since the FH, I see more but they don't usually impede my vision, except the auras as they don't really move.

Here's another poll. How bad is your eyesight? Give me your numbers in contact-ese. :) For instance, until these new contacts, I was -7.75 in the right eye, -7.25 in the left eye. I'm now trying out -7.25 in the right eye, -6.75 in the left eye (which is really cool as I haven't been better than -7 in many years).

Here's my plug for Focus Night & Days, disposable contacts that you wear (even sleep in) for a month. According to my eye doc, these are so good for the eye that the cornea actually starts to heal, and this is why it's possible that after 29 years of degrading eyesight I might possibly have my own tiny fountain of youth/regeneration. I like them so much better than Accuvue, which were a pain in the ass for me to get in my eye. Focus D&N feel more like regular contacts--more substantial--so are easier to handle.
