2019 Fall Anime Season Preview
The beginning of the new anime season is only a few days away. It seems one of the running themes this season is crime investigation. Psycho-Pass is back with a new season and new main characters. Plus, there is a new Sherlock Holmes in town. On the period drama side, Mugen no Juunin (Blade of the Immortal) is getting a new anime adaptation. And there is another Fate anime, this time adapted from the mobile game Fate/Grand Order.

Fate Grand/Order Zettai Majuu Sensen Babylonia
Based on the Babylonia storyline from Fate Grand/Order mobile game. Episode 0 was released some time ago, focusing on the characters Mash and Doctor Roman. The TV anime adaptation of Babylonia will be 21 episodes long.

Keishichou Tokumu-bu Tokushu Kyouaku-han Taisaku-Shitsu Dai Nana-ka -Tokunana-
In a world where supernatural beings exist, a special crime investigation unit within the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department, dubbed Tokunana (Special 7), is tasked with investigating crimes committed by a dragon-worshipping organization known as Nine. Tokunana is an original anime with series composition by Higashide Yuichiro (Fate/Apocrypha) and original character design by Chrono Nanae (Peace Maker).

Babylon (novels by Nozaki Mado)
Based on the 3-volume suspense novels by Nozaki Mado. While investigating the illegal activities of a pharmaceutical company, prosecutor Seizaki Zen becomes embroiled in a conspiracy surrounding the election in the autonomous "new zone" in the western part of Tokyo. Throughout it all, he keeps seeing the silhouette of a mysterious woman... The anime will be split into three arcs.

Beastars (manga by Itagaki Paru)
An unusual and dark take on high school slice-of-life, Beastars features a cast of teenage anthropomorphous animals. At a boarding school where animals are split into carnivores and herbivores, Legoshi, a sensitive wolf and a member of the drama club, goes through the trial and tribulation of being a teeanger and a wolf. Studio Orange (Houseki no Kuni) will be adapting the manga into 3DCG anime.

Hoshiai no Sora
This original anime from 8bit is a coming-of-age story about a group of boys in a junior high soft tennis club that is on the verge of being terminated. Director Akane Kazuki will be responsible for both directing and series composition.

No Guns Life (manga by Karasuma Tasuku)
You can't get more SF hard-boiled than having a main character with a gun for a head. In a world where humans can get body modification to weaponize their bodies, Inui Juuzou ekes out a living as a resolver. The animation production for this anime adaptation will be handled by Madhouse, and Kawai Kenji will be composing the music.

Mugen no Juunin -Immortal- (manga by Samura Hiroaki)
Manji, a swordsman cursed with immortality, must kill a thousand evil men in order to regain his mortality. One day, he crosses path with a girl named Rin, who hires him to be her bodyguard and to help her avenge her parents' death. If you miss Dororo's spectatcular fight scenes and period drama, Mugen no Juunin should fill the void.

Kabukicho Sherlock
We've seen many versions of the world's most famous detective, and Production I.G. is bringing us a new one this autumn in Kabukicho Sherlock: rakugo-loving Sherlock Holmes, who operates in the seedy neighbourhood of Kabukicho, along with a team of eccentric private detectives. Kishimoto Taku (91 Days, Boku dake ga Inai Machi) is responsible for series composition. Judging by the trailers, this original anime will be quite a riot. The series will run for two cours.

A new season of Psycho-Pass comes with a new set of characters, and it will focus on two rookie inspectors, Shindou Arata (CV: Kaji Yuuki) and Kei Mikhail Igantov (CV: Nakamura Yuuichi). This season will have 8 episodes in total, and all the episodes will be an hour long.
