I finished a top. I actually did that awhile ago, but now there's a
picture.
I went to the Hideout with
postmodem on Tuesday, and it was a lovely, low-key time. He was so impressed by the bartender's service and the price of the drinks that I'm now convinced that the bartenders at Jimmy's must be horrible and the beer overpriced.
Mentioned that evening (by me): "I suspect the reason that I didn't really have a slutty phase in college is primarily because Jimmy's was closed the entire time I was over 21 and living in Hyde Park."
I've finally finished reading The Thirty Years' War. I'm now also almost done with the 33 1/3 book on Born in the USA, because those things are short. Realization: Man, I love Bruce Springsteen. When my little brother and I would take the 3.5 hour (each way) drive to Tulsa to see my dad, Springsteen is what I'd always want to listen to. Well, that and Huey Lewis & The News' Sports. I was seven, hementioned TWO WHOLE OKLAHOMA TOWNS in the song, and who doesn't like the "Unh! Heart of Rock 'n' Roll!" line? In part because of the 33 1/3 book, after a long, long absence, I'm back to bittorrenting. With any luck, the complete catalogues of Bruce, Joni Mitchell, and Parliament are slowly downloading at home.
This weekend, I will certainly be working two shows at the OTS (both are The Books); I may be going to the Hopleaf, also. Mostly, I'm just going to relax, and perhaps curse people and their non-RSVP'ing ways (sadly, most of the lj-folk that I need to RSVP for something have, so this is not passive-aggressive needling, but actual concern about something over which I have no control).
