housework, also nerdery

Didn't post today less because of the lj strike thing (I am skeptical of strikes in general) and more because when we were here we were cleaning, and when we weren't here, we were in Hillsboro and uh I guess we sang at the Good Friday service? lol. I don't think we did too bad considering Amy has never sung in a choir and I haven't sung in one for ten years, and both of us have what are nicely described as pretty fair chorus altos. (I won't lose to Jun in singing!) We don't wander too horribly off key if we have a lead but we're not what you might call soloist material. Amy's behind me laughing because it's kind of true.

Also we found out yesterday that we were doing it and I had never seen the damn hymn before to remember it. Not bad!

Also at the service (it was seven Hillsboro churches at uh the Lutherans'?) Amy and I identified the the one Pentecostal pastor out of the lineup by the way he said he felt in his heart about something. In about five seconds. I looked at her and she looked at me, and we almost caused a scene. Then afterward during fellowshipping some poor ninety year old lady fell. You could hear the indrawn breath of horror from everybody in the building. By God's grace the area was carpeted, but I was just barely able to control an uneasy feeling I should be finding a walkie and bellowing STAT FRONT LOBBY STAT FRONT LOBBY into it. ._.

When we went on the train we saw a dog that the guy said was lab and husky, with black fur shading into silver.

Yesterday we walked around in Hillsboro so much that I freaking dreamed about it. It wasn't a bad dream. I was just following behind Amy assuming she knew where the hell she was going, which is basically all that ever happens in Portland anyway.

DX Three drabbles behind. I am working on it!

We also watched some classic Who last night. I don't know why people think that Ten is such a mother, Seven has got him beat hands down in the stone-cold bastard department.

1. DR WHO:

"They used to tell me," said the Doctor, "if I liked humans so much I should marry one." He looked off in the distance for a minute and then said, his mouth twisting, "So I did."

2. ARASHI (in which Meg is like, Sho's secret is WHAT)

"Sho-chan," said Nino, his voice rather bossy, his hands busy at Sho's throat, knotting his tie with quick jerks and a final tug, "You should learn to do your own ties. Aren't you a little old for this?"

"Sure," said Sho vaguely, as Nino did the tie pin, his hands brushing against the starched cotton of Sho's Oxford shirt. "I'll learn. Whatever you say, Nino."

3. JUN VS NEWS

"All of us are very proud of our kouhai," said Jun, smiling like a shark. "For instance, Ninomiya thinks Tegoshi-kun has a great deal of potential."

There was a cold, terrified silence, while everybody tried to not ask themselves what Nino thought Tegoshi had a great deal of potential in, and keep smiling for the cameras.

"Wah!" chirped Tegoshi. "I'm so touched that my senpai believe in me! Please tell Ninomiya-kun I'll do my best, okay!"

Shige whimpered.

boybands are awesome, dr who, pdx, drabble a day, je, arashi
