I haven't seen any of them Movies. But I'd like to. :)
How would you say Fantastic Beasts stand against Harry Potter? I mean, is the magic magical and so forth? Or can't you compair them at all? Just because it's the same universe doesn't mean they are even close to be similar.
Yeah, Eddie Redmayne seems like a great actor though I haven't seen him in anything either. Hee, I was never compelled to watch him in The Theory of Everything either because of Hawking.
I like that it is set in an adult wizard world! I wasn't sure.
It's just that much of the promotion I've seen here seem to use Harry Potter and if you go see the movie because of HP I was kinda wondering if that will disappoint you (not me personally but people that might expect a HP movie) or make you pleasantly surprised.
Newt Scamander is so adorable you can't help but love him. I believe his character was mentioned in the HP books as the person who wrote the books of magical creatures.
LOL this is a bit like after watching Ed Norton as Hulk. I know Mark Ruffalo has a lot of fans ( and I like him, too ), but to me Edward Norton will always be The Hulk for me!
But Eddie Redmayne was great in Fantastic beasts, no doubt about it. Maybe I'll watch him in his other movies first before ToE.
I'm glued to "Survivor" until the finale now! I watched the last two episodes, and am more or less caught up with the people and the drama. It seems to be anyone's game at this point.
I haven't seen Hawking, though I did see The Theory of Everything, and was absolutely blown away by Redmayne's performance. It really is worth watching.
Do try Benedict Cumberbatch's Hawking, Shari. He was really great as Hawking. Haha, and there're probably Eddie Redmayne's fans who aren't keen to watch BC's Hawking for the same reasons as mine!!
I really should watch it. I can watch it for free with Amazon Prime. I do have a DVD called Into the Universe with Stephen Hawking, something like that, which BC narrates or is somehow involved in. I haven't watched it yet. I'm not all that fond of BC. He's a good actor, but I can't warm up to him as a person.
Maybe that's because the characters that he played lately ... how to say it ... require him to be somewhat "arrogant" and "menacing"?
I didn't immediately warm up to him when I first saw him on Sherlock. It was when I watched him in his earlier works when he was younger that I started to become a fan. The characters that he played then were "warmer" and "softer" He was awesome as Hugh Laurie's son in Forty Something, really, really great in Stuart: A life backwards and fantastic as Vincent van Gogh in Painted with words. And of course, Hawking!
The Theory of Everything is outstanding!! Love this actor. He's got incredible diversity. First I saw of him was in Les Miserable. He also played a trans in That Danish Girl. I'm glad fantastic beasts was good. Hugs!
I love Fantastic Beasts Very much and Eddie is totally the star in it. I read somewhere that Eddie Redmayne was their first and only choice to play Newt Scamander and I totally agree :)
He was quite wonderful in The Theory of Everything. Dr. Strange isn't my cup of tea so I'll wait for it to be on Netflix. I hope to see Fantastic Beasts in the next few days. I'm looking forward to it! Glad you liked it.

Mine is a small town so there's not much of a crowd when we went to see FB but I can imagine the huge crowd wanting to watch it in the big cities.
