Who won?

As much as I adore Benedict Cumberbatch, I have to say that Fantastic Beasts won ( Read more... )

I haven't seen Hawking, though I did see The Theory of Everything, and was absolutely blown away by Redmayne's performance. It really is worth watching.

Do try Benedict Cumberbatch's Hawking, Shari. He was really great as Hawking. Haha, and there're probably Eddie Redmayne's fans who aren't keen to watch BC's Hawking for the same reasons as mine!!

I really should watch it. I can watch it for free with Amazon Prime. I do have a DVD called Into the Universe with Stephen Hawking, something like that, which BC narrates or is somehow involved in. I haven't watched it yet. I'm not all that fond of BC. He's a good actor, but I can't warm up to him as a person.

Maybe that's because the characters that he played lately ... how to say it ... require him to be somewhat "arrogant" and "menacing"?

I didn't immediately warm up to him when I first saw him on Sherlock. It was when I watched him in his earlier works when he was younger that I started to become a fan. The characters that he played then were "warmer" and "softer" He was awesome as Hugh Laurie's son in Forty Something, really, really great in Stuart: A life backwards and fantastic as Vincent van Gogh in Painted with words. And of course, Hawking!

Yes, I've mostly seen his later roles. I'm not really drawn to cold or sarcastic personalities. Thanks for telling me about Painted with Words, I'll have to check that out. And maybe Forty Something.
