So in case y'all didn't hear - Islam is on trial today in the U.S. House of Representatives. Because Repubs are SO CONCERNED about jobs and the deficit that they put a whole fucking religion on trial over concerns about extremism, as if that issue doesn't exist ANYWHERE else.
Here's an idea - let's do this right. Have hearings about extremism in all its' forms. We'll start with the "Christians" who shoot abortion doctors and threaten family planning clinics across the country, racists who patrol the borders looking for Mexicans to harass, homophobes who torment gay kids into committing suicide and protest at funerals with god-hates-America signs, and anti-government militias stockpiling weapons all over the damn place.
...no? Then wtf are we trying to accomplish here?
