Not so impressed]
[music|ANTM finale ]
Today was such a slow day shoe-wise. The day itself went by quickly, but business was tedious. I sold one pair of socks. That's it! Well, two people came to pick up shoes I had ordered them the other day, so I'm counting those, dammit!
I saw The Da Vinci Code the other day and I'm kind of riding the fence. I'm not sure if I'm glad I had already read the book several times before I saw the movie. (No spoilers)
- Casting was perfect. Ian McKellan? Genius. And Jean Reno, I have so much love for Jean Reno.
- I was sure that I had seen Jean-Yves Berteloot somewhere before (the man who plays Remy)! He was in Hornblower! He's de Vergasse in "Duchess and the Devil"!
- I liked the movie, but sometimes I didn't like the pace, I thought it could have been faster. But other parts were quick and exciting. I don't know if it's me waiting and knowing what was coming up because of reading the book that made me impatient. I don't know, I'm very on the fence. I think they did pretty good with the time constraints and the sheer volume of material from the book. I would definitely watch it again, but it wasn't fabulous.
- Soundtrack? Terrible! Awful! I was heartbroken when I heard the soundtrack during the movie. This movie deserves a fabulous score and it was completely ripped off. A great score can raise a movie's enjoyability (at least for me). For example, Pirates of the Caribbean. I like that movie but the soundtrack was really cool, which adds to the movie experience. I even bought the cd!
The Black Pearl and
Barbossa is Hungry- And there were about 8 teeny boppers behind me. Dear god, I hope I never acted like that when I was 13. "Pam, you are so not fat! You're skinnier than, like, Paris Hilton!" "Brandon, you are, like, so mean! No, really, you are mean." (He said that if the movie didn't start in 5 minutes then he was leaving. Oh, boohoo.) And I had brought a few cookies to the movie for a snack. I guess they saw me eating one. "Look! She's got a cookie! No, seriously, she's eating a cookie!" Ok, honestly? WTF?
Oh, oh, oh! Sandy at work asked me to explain the storyline of Bonanza. YES! And, and and! She wanted me to tell her all about Il Divo! She had made cds of Il Divo, Michael Buble, and Josh Groban to play at a Ladies Association fundraiser or somesuch for her town, but she didn't get to sit and listen to any of it since she had tons to do. Now I'm bringing my mp3 player in tomorrow with all my Il Divo stuff on it, the Urs Toronto radio interview the one where he says "tight leather pants". *is so going to hell* that'll show her his fabulous accent, and I'm bringing the laptop to show her footage because she can't not see them live! She won't get the full experience otherwise! "I'm an Il Divo virgin!" she said. And now I'm in complete Evil Scientist mode!
I hope everyone enjoyed yesterday's picspam!
