I encountered a new (for me) term at QC - Genderqueer - when I went to the Trans / Genderqueer caucus. A caucus is meeting in which issues common to the minority at QC (but which might be overlooked by the majority) are raised and later presented to the conference floor ( Read more... )

Feel tired today, and a little down. Went to the ball on campus last night and that was fun, but afterwards wasn't as much. Most people went to a club called Cubed (or some such) but I sort of got lost on the way there. Sort of - met someone from QC and we walked to the venue, without really knowing where we were going. I just came from the bidding session at QC. The main contenders were Monash, Perth and Woollongong universitiesa for 2010. There were two roundsd of voting and Monash was eliminated in the first round. The second round was a tie (62 to 62), so there was a third round where people were were asked to go go to one side of the room or the other to ( Read more... )

Am at QC in Canberra but access to computers is hard to come by. However, I am thouroughly enjoying myself and meeting people.

The hostel is a bit of a zoo but I seem to be able to sleep through it anyway. It's location is the best thing about it, at Dickson shops, right in between resturants and shops. I shared a Japanese meal the other night and ( Read more... )

Got my cake baked and most of it's already been sold and eaten!

Good event. The Queer Collective today was running the free NUSA lunch at uni, and also had a bake sale next to it. Something a little bitr different. Proceeds go towards sending us to Queer Collaborations in Canberra later this year. A good event and much fun (photos later).
