Lack of Sleep
Urgh - that little terrier Jeb hung around until after 3am, yapping and barking near my front gate. I let him in just to make it stop and then (because Pegasus wouldn't let him in the house - fair enough) he started whining again. I put him outside and he did return but I must have fallen asleep eventually. Woke up just before 8am. No yapping or barking anywhere. I went over to his owner's house and knocked on the door but there was no answer. Maybe they've gone away?
Fed the cats and took Pegasus for an extended walk (we walk up to Holmesville and back via the bush). I don't know about Peggy, but I needed it. We passed some of the kids in the street, waiting for the school bus, and then further down, two dogs who always bark at us as we pass their yard, were out on the street. I held Peggy firm as they circled and told them in a firm voice to "GIT!". They kept their distance. The rest of the walk was uneventful, though I am very tired and hungry.
No sign of Jeb on the walk, though I can hear his distinctive yap, though it sounds like he's in a shed. If that's that case, the "dog dumpers" in this street have probably got him. Bye bye Jeb.
