Nikki and I did go to the clothing store today. No swim trunks in stock. :( But we did get two pairs of gym shorts for me, so I only have to wash exercise clothes once a week. We also ordered a pair of swim trunks, to arrive sometime in the next 6 days or so.
I thought laterally, and decided to go to the other, newer club of the two today. I got a short tour of the place. They have a very nice juice bar, an area with punching bags, a cardio machine area (much bigger than the older club's), weight room, and a wet steam room in each locker room. No pool, racquetball, basketball, or track. And it's adults (16 yrs. and up) only during all hours. It's a very nice place, but the lockers are unbelievably small. They're tall enough, but I had to stand my bag on end to get it in (and even then it was squashed a bit.) Definitely not enough space for clothes on hangers. And it's on the north end of town, so I'd have to get up a half hour earlier every day if I wanted to go there during the workweek. But it will be a nice place to go on the weekends.
So I spent one hour on the treadmill (2.73 miles, 60 minutes, top speed 3.4 mph, about 530 calories burned,) then finished it off with a session in the steam room. Steamy! :D Actually, the temp reminded me of an Arizona summer, just unbelievably wet. It also reminded me of that scene in The Blues Brothers when Jake and Elwood (and the band) talk to the booking agent. It also felt incredibly luxurious and relaxing. Part of me wanted some birch branches. Then shower, change, and come back home, and Nikki had just finished the grocery shopping.
