I was moving a little slow out of bed today; it carried over to leaving this morning between 7:05 and 7:10. Since I had done two days of high heart-rate exercise, I opted for something a little less strenuous. I spent about 25 minutes walking the circular 1/9th mile track. I didn't count laps, though. I just let myself walk enough to feel my heart beating and sweat a bit. There were several other walkers circling. I passed one person, was passed by two others, and was closing in on passing someone else when I saw that I had 5 minutes left and it was time to slow down. It was actually enjoyable to just follow my own pace, and I think I'm finding treadmills and laps more enjoyable personally than neighborhood walking (no offense to my wife, who loves doing that!)
Anyway, got off the track at 7:50 and after showering and changing was to work just on time. (But my shirt, covered by my sweater, was still a little wet. I'm not used to dressing in such a humid environment as the locker room is.)
Tomorrow's options: Exerbike/treadmill again, stair machine, weights, basketball shooting(?), or (most probably) take along racquet and ball and see if there's a court opening that I can do some solo basic practice.
I'm really glad now I have an MP3 player. While I'd like to have an iPod Shuffle (and no, wife, I don't want yours but thanks for the loan offer!), mine does work even if it is a little bulky. Even better would be a flash memory player that has built in AM/FM. But, at any rate, any MP3 player is a good thing to have while walking. :)
And it's even nicer when Nikki makes such nice lunches and dinners that are healthy, too!
