In the meanwhile...

Okay, today is the day, I'm working on the post of the contest (winners and stuff) but it's going to take a while (not much, maybe an hour). If in the meanwhile you want to prompt me, you're more than welcome (after I finish the post as well, there's no time limit here). You know my fandoms, new and old, everything is okay. Hakkai considered himself a patient man. Especially after his time with Sanzo in the temple. He wanted to do things right this time and experience had showed that he tended to overreact when he let his emotions run free, so he had become especially adept at keeping them reigned. And smiling. He was extraordinarily good at smiling, if he might say so.

Unfortunately, Gojyo was also extraordinarily good at pushing boundaries, so Hakkai was finding himself at the end of his rope, which was somewhat worrying, so he thought that the best course of action would be to be upfront about it and ask for unacceptable behaviours to stop before more drastic measures had to be taken.

And that's how, when a shirtless Gojyo licked his wet lips after drinking directly from his bottle of beer, Hakkai spoke up.

“I know what you are doing,” he said pleasantly, smiling in his most harmless way. Which wasn't as harmlessly as he wanted, but he was working on it, really.

Gojyo cocked his head slightly, running a hand through his hair to get it out of the way and be able to look Hakkai in the eye.

“Aah...” he drawled, “do you, really.”

And, as always, it wasn't the cockiness that got to Hakkai. Because Gojyo's bravado couldn't convince even that stupid bastard that had betrayed him and sacrificed him to save his own skin. It was the vulnerability it hid, the way Gojyo was always shamelessly offering only the part of himself he thought others might want, like renting the best room knowing that nobody would be interested in buying the whole house, and it was that transparent act that got on Hakkai's nerves and that, this time, broke the proverbial camel's back.

“Fuck it,” Hakkai murmured.

Gojyo's eyes widened like saucers when he heard Hakkai swear. Or maybe it was when Hakkai leaned over the table, took Gojyo's face in his hands and kissed him within an inch of his life. Hakkai couldn't be totally sure, but he didn't particularly cared at the moment, either.
