She shook her head and looked to his book building before giving him a curious sort of smile.

"Hard at work?" She ignored the comrade comment for the moment, as she really didn't want to deal with that now. She had better things to concentrate on- like why in the world he was still working here when he obviously didn't belong.

Maybe it was punishment.

"Hard enough for what?" she inquired, setting her book aside for the moment, though she kept an easy hand on it as she contemplated him. Of course, she didn't know that much about him, save what she gathered from outside sources, but he seemed the interesting type.
