She shook her head and looked to his book building before giving him a curious sort of smile.
"Hard at work?" She ignored the comrade comment for the moment, as she really didn't want to deal with that now. She had better things to concentrate on- like why in the world he was still working here when he obviously didn't belong.
"Hard enough for what?" she inquired, setting her book aside for the moment, though she kept an easy hand on it as she contemplated him. Of course, she didn't know that much about him, save what she gathered from outside sources, but he seemed the interesting type.
Rose arched a brow at the pile and took a quick step backwards. She wasn't about to help him, but she saw where this was going. So, she simply nodded and waited, hoping that he was more balanced than she thought.
Rose put a hand up to her face to hide her laughter and then, after clearing her throat, walked over to nudge a few of the books that had fallen.
"Fucking hell indeed," she echoed and looked up to him. "Perhaps you should not have built your stack so high." Or at all. But, well, who was she to tell him off?
"I was thinking about it," she told him but, after a moment's thought, leaned down to help him gather them all up again.
She didn't care, nor did she feel a need to help him, as it had been his problem to begin with. How would he learn if she just helped him out? Consequences were there for a reason. And the consequence of piling his books too high was having to pick them all back up again.
Laughing again, she stood up and rested the small pile she created on a shelf before glancing down to him again. However, she turned a bit more solemn after, though whether or not it was genuine was debatable.
"It must be terrible. To be here. At least from what you say, this does not seem the ideal situation for you."
She shrugged and just took the books she had piled up. "Where were you taking them?" She wasn't particularly strong, but they were just books, after all, and she could successfully carry them.
"Hopefully you were not carrying them just to topple them. While it might waste your time here, it does seem boring."

Maybe it was punishment.

"That...seems counterproductive."

"But this is the only time you have. What would you rather be doing with it?"
