It's been a long time since my last entry, LOL. I always say that I am going to update, and then I just become really busy. Dunno why that is...
Halloween was kinda fun, I got to see Rocky Horror Picture Show for my very first time, and that is an odd movie, I must say. That same week, we also watched Memento for sem, which is actually a really good movie, and I got advising done for classes, so I know pretty much what I want to register for. Then, last weekend was a lot of random fun. I went to the Back from the Dead Walk at the Mount St. Mary's grotto with CCM, and just like Ray said, it was creepy but Catholic, LOL. The next day was actually kind of fun--it was families weekend, so my mom came up with my brother and my godmother and my godbrothers. They stayed for the game and we actually won, which is nice. I even finally got my first McDaniel hoodie, and some much-needed money, which is even nicer. Then, Saturday night, we had one gospel choir gig, but it wasn't as good as the one that Sunday at the Westminster Church of God. We performed for two services, and it was unlike any of the gigs we have done so far. People were really getting into it, it was amazing, and it was also the first time I did my solo, and since Ellen wasn't there, I ended up doing the solo on my own... I was pretty nervous, but I did better the second time around. I'm sure it will be put together by the final concerts.
The week following was just full of schoolwork and even regular work, which hasn't gone as well for me as I would have liked. Calling mostly the people that normally don't give to the school really doesn't turn out much in terms of results. Thursday, Gospel Choir was cancelled, so instead, I have time to go and see the documentary Crossing Arizona, which gave multiple perspectives on the issue of immigrants crossing the border. It was interesting, and there were points in the movie where I got sad, and other times where I was angry. It was great.
This past weekend has been crazy and just everywhere. On Friday, after class, I went to this leadership conference thing that was sponsored by the Office of Multicultural Students that was held for people in different clubs (I went as a member of HLA), and went into Saturday. A lot of mostly talking about communicating and being a leader and all that great stuff, but also a lot of random times with the people that went. I didn't think it was a complete waste of time, at the very least. Then, getting back on Saturday evening, I went to Ellen's engagement party with some friends, and it was cool chillin with random new people and getting to know people, and it sure made for some more facebook picture tags! Then, we went to the Bachelor's clubroom, and it was really good, as expected. And there was more random stuff that I could talk about, but I won't go into details. I am having some issues with the roommate, but I hope that they can be resolved with the least possible amount of confrontation possible. Then, today, it was just work, and going to mass. Good times at both. Oh yeah, and of course, going to the pub for fourth meal right before it closed, hanging out and making future plans with Amanda and Jen, and getting evacuated because of the fire alarm in Decker so having to go to Whiteford with Amanda and Jen and dancing around like a crazy person with Jen while Amanda is on the phone. I love these crazy times here at McDaniel. =)
Also, I am in the process of working on a very important project here. Details for Mount 2000, or rather, Mount 2007, have already been released, so I am working on getting a group here from McDaniel to go. I know I am going for sure, but I am excited for all the people I have invited so far. There are a lot of people that I know could benefit from this retreat, so I am excited to see what kind of group we end up with. Please pray that we get many people who need to receive the blessings of this retreat.
Yeah, I guess that's all for now. I do still need to do some work, but luckily for me, those creative juices are flowing... =)
Until next time, folks, and God bless!
