Fringe S4 -Review Part 2

One post was not enough guys... 0RZ
But this is more an overall mythology spiel and speculation post. I've just been keeping it all in -I have no one to discuss with!

After reading this fic suggesting that Olivia has to die as a way of offsetting Peter’s existence (since he’s not supposed to be alive), perhaps they have a chance to be together, both dead. It’s outrageous, because they are the stars of the show and this would effectively end the series, BUT what if there was a plane of existence outside of time, like the ones in which the Observers can linger and observe where Peter and Olivia can have their happy ending? After all, Josh has said that you know you'll be back on the show if you die a gruesome death xD

So, if the show had to end (I don’t want to let go! T_T) then, it may have them ending in an implied happy ending, but one where it can be open to our imaginations, so that fandom can live on forever in fanfic xD And if the show had to end, all the seasons we’ve watched so far are the Observers’ non-intrusive attempts to get Peter and Olivia to see that they both must die (and can still be together) in order for the universe to end up the way the Observers will see exist. I still believe that Peter and Olivia birth the new race of human begins, albeit further generations to reach the Observer race, so they would have to be alive long enough to have a baby.

Speaking of babies, I wonder if Henry exists again now that Peter's back? I also wonder how much of Faulivia played into Peter's re-birth, because she loved him too. Perhaps her love for Henry would bring him back to existence. And the show hasn't addressed Walter's role in this, because after all, this is his son.

After rewatching “Making Angels,” I have theories that make sense. The Observers can see time and space because of the math dude in this episode (or perhaps this is a paradox, that having the blue device helped him solve the math to flatten space and time, but also that he solved it so that in the future the device could exist). And it took seemingly longer than usual for the Observers to realize Peter was back in existence because he’s become such an anomaly to the way the universe is supposed to run; he wasn't supposed to be back. (Was he ever supposed to not exist? September kind of changed the course of time anyways when he saved him). So from now on, does Peter still not register in the future events mapped out in the universe?

OH, and what about the 'First People' that dictated what happened with the machine in S3. We find out that it was future!Peter + gang who sent it back to us and gave the idea for Peter to merge the universes, but now that it's happened in the present (to them the past), what happens with the First People now? Every action changes the future -the future just changed itself through their past selves, so it's this giant time-loop that I'm trying to wrap my brain around.

And I’m still pondering what it means that in all possible futures September has seen, that Olivia has to die (due to Cortexiphan, because as the saying goes, “a light that burns twice as bright, burns half as long”)(Oh god, do you think that quote from “Forced Perspectives” was alluding to Olivia’s ‘turning on those lights’ and being twice as powerful as we once saw her, thus burning her out T_T). Or…could he be alluding to the guy from the blimp? My theory is that that guy is future!Henry. He came back to existence, grew up without his father, resentful that this other Olivia took his father away from him and his mother (fauxlivia) and he kills Olivia for revenge.

eta:Back to 4.15: Oh I totally forgot to talk about the fact that Olivia said she was willing to let go completely and let those 'other' memories take over her. Some people were talking about her giving up her agency and not being okay with a woman giving up something for a guy, but I don't think the show is trying to say that. If you haven't guessed, it's kinda complicated.
Plus, now that we know it's our Olivia, it's not really giving anything up but going back to who she really is. However, I do see the argument that that's not the point and a woman shouldn't give up their identity for a man...I guess my point is that he's not making her do this -she decided this on her own. And I believe in Olivia as a strong, purposeful, determined woman, that she would not choose this path lightly.

I wanna know how Olivia is going to confront Peter on his 'I looked into your eyes and you're not my Olivia' bit >.>
I have a feeling, now that she's been through these two personalities, she may be more understanding to his wanting to avoid another mistake. Never has anyone been faced with so many versions of you, gotta cut him some slack. I just want them to be happy for one episode, please!

Ok, that's enough of that. Might be on the brink of overdosing...xD
At one point, I couldn't get my hands on enough Joshua Jackson, so I watched the Pacey moments from Dawson's Creek xD Ohjeez -that show's treatment of their pairings is so infuriating. I know it creates drama and keeps the show going, but damn! Everyone is with everyone at least once xD
But this is extremely cute! How Josh and Katie used to date and even off-screen, after their relationship ended, they had so much chemistry together ^^
