I had a bit of a browse around, and came across a few that had me inspired, so I decided to go ahead and order a few of them. Today I actually managed to finish the tartan Simplicity dress from start to end! I started cutting it out at around 11:30, and then completed the last sewing at about 6ish. I started with the McCalls pencil skirt, as it only consists of a few pieces. It's so easy! So the skirt is all cut out (using the poly/viscose fabric). It's so beautiful to touch, I can't wait to wear it! I decided against lining it, as I just didn't feel it needed it. It's a winter skirt anyway, so I'll likely be wearing it with stockings anyway ( Read more... )

My Simplicity patterns arrived the other day, plus yesterday I bought a couple of remnants from work, so I'm all inspired and motivated to sew! One is a kind of tawny coloured poly/viscose; it may be poly but it feels so incredibly soft, and acts a lot like a nice wool.
